have you ever been to one of those 99 cents stores
going up and down aisles and aisles,
not really needing anything,
but trying, really trying to find something to buy
just because it only costs 99 cents.

my name is nate
and you can consider me your neon green plastic hand shaped backscratcher.

my grandma always, without fail, had multiple hand shaped backscratchers lying around her apartment,
and i have a funny memory of her sitting in her recliner scratching her back and feet with one at the same time,
then looking up at me,
and offering me the one that she had been scratching her feet with.
she loved those things.
she was always giving them to people.

how am i your hand shaped backscratcher?

well, most of my days are spent writing songs.
usually for artists who need songs,
i've gotten pretty good at it.
and i love doing it.

the thing is, i also have a solo artist thing that i do.
usually songs come when i'm walking on the sidewalk,
or talking to someone about something.
its the greatest.

the problem is that these songs aren't recorded yet,
and i really want everyone to hear them.

here is the point.
that takes money,
money i don't have.

but with your help i will.
here is the idea

i want to get 5000 people to all be a part of the making of my record
by each giving 1 dollar.

i go by the name
nate campany and the serenade.
the serenade isn't just a bunch of musicians who play my songs with me,
its also friends who encourage me,
and by supporting this,
you are a part of the serenade.

and your dollar,
well, let me tell you,
i plan on earning it.
by blogging about the record,
posting music ideas
and video diaries.
and
i want to include the name of everyone who gives in the liner notes.

so,
be a part of the serenade
and let me be your dollar store treasure.

love
nate campany
